Virgil Everette Hamblin, 79, of Apache Junction, Ariz., received his eternal reward Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones at his home.
Virgil was born Dec. 15, 1934 in Harrisonville, Mo. to Karl and Jenny (Hennessey) Hamblin.
On March 27, 1955, Virgil was united in marriage to Yvonne Henschke in Buffalo Lake.
Virgil's career included working on various farms and truck driving. He was employed at Nevis Lumber and Fargo Tank prior to moving to Arizona in 1987. He proudly drove his Swift Transportation truck for 16 years with no accidents or tickets, retiring in 2004.
Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time with his family, cutting firewood, camping and scroll sawing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Yvonne; son, Randy (Shelly) of Park Rapids; son, Lynn (Sandra Fridlich) of Dewey, Ariz.; daughter, JaNell Beelner (Mike) of Park Rapids and Gold Canyon, Ariz.; son, Craig (Kay) of Rolla, Mo.; daughter, Yvette McKinney (Kenny) of Apache Junction, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters; and seven brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ray.
Memorial services: March 8, in Apache Junction, Ariz. and Aug. 30 at First English Lutheran Church in Dorset.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace Hospice, Tempe, Ariz.
