Veterinarian Melzer joins Ark Animal Hospital staff
Veterinarian Dr. Stacy Melzer has joined the Ark Animal Hospital staff, treating small animals - dogs and cats - as well as "pocket pets" - guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits.
Melzer completed her bachelor's degree at Minnesota State University Mankato and attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2010.
She practiced for a year in Barnesville before accepting the position at the Ark.
Melzer holds an interest in preventative medicine via vaccinations for animals and internal medicine.
She and husband Bryan are the owners of two Weimaraners and two cats, one of the dogs adopted from the Headwaters Animal Shelter.
Melzer, who's originally from New Ulm, replaces Dr. Susan Pudwill who returned to North Dakota.
The Ark Animal Hospital recently underwent an expansion, adding a surgery suite with a dental table, offices and a break room.
The clinic is open by appointment from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon every other Saturday (call 732-3119 for the dates.)
