UPDATED: Missing Nevis woman found alive

A massive door- to- door search turned up a missing Nevis woman just before 1 p.m.

Elizabeth Von Bank's cane was discovered this morning outside of her home across from the Nevis fire station.

Von Bank, 87, was nowhere to be found.

Emergency crews and Nevis students were then recruited to find the woman, who is very small, around 4-foot-8 inches with gray hair. She may be wearing black clothing and carrying a purse.

They are searching Nevis, knocking on doors and calling businesses and residents.

Authorities said they didn't think she had been missing since last night, but then noticed her show up downtown on a security camera about 3:30 a.m. Then someone spotted her in a dugout on the school's baseball field around 12:45 p.m.

Authorities said she suffers from dementia. She will be transported by air care to a hospital.The Nevis School has been placed on lockdown.
