Two Park Rapids police officers have solved a Dec. 22 burglary and a suspect is in custody.

"We want people to know we're doing our jobs," said Officer Justin Frette, who caught the suspect with fellow officer Dan Garner on Dec. 24.

Meanwhile law enforcement authorities are nevertheless asking Park Rapids area residents to watch for suspicious action in neighborhoods after a homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress Monday night.

“Please keep an eye on your neighbors’ homes,” one resident suggested.

Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes said if residents see any unfamiliar vehicles in your neighborhood, call law enforcement.

Home invasions seem to hit their peak during winter and the holidays when homes are unoccupied.

The 27-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident. He is facing a litany of charges.
