Update: Snowmobiler crashes into tree
Park Rapids Minnesota PO Box 111 56470

An Annandale snowmobile rider was hospitalized in Bemidji late Wednesday afternoon following an accident outside Nevis.

He was taken by ambulance to North Country Regional Hospital.

A Nevis firefighter at the scene said Kevin John Andrews, 45, likely broke his arm after colliding with a tree off County Road 82, near the intersection of Highway 33 near Nevis.

A nursing supervisor listed him in good condition Thursday.

Andrews was leading another snowmobiler through a groomed trail off the highway when the accident occurred around 3:30.

It appeared as if he was heading through a gated area when he got too close to a tree. The Hubbard County Sheriff's Department, which investigated the crash, blamed the accident on icy conditions.

Nevis firefighters, the sheriff's department and North Memorial ambulance all responded.
