Tracy M. Jirava, 25, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at Little Falls, Minn., as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Tracy Mae Jirava was born to Gerald and Debra Jirava on May 20, 1982 in Detroit Lakes. She grew up in rural Ogema, and attended school in Ogema and Waubun. She worked as a caregiver in several group homes and also worked for the Becker County Jail in Detroit Lakes. She also helped out on the family farm.
Her daughter, Kaylin was the focus of her life. She always had a smile, was very generous, and was always willing to help others. She loved horses and driving tractors.
Surviving Tracy are her daughter, Kaylin; parents, Gerald and Deb Jirava of Ogema; two sisters, Tanya Jirava of Ogema and Trina Jirava of Watford City, N.D.; two brothers, Vance (Kimberly) Jirava and Billy Vogt, both of Ogema; maternal grandparents, George and Helen Vogt of Little Falls; one niece and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding Tracy in death were her paternal grandparents, Lod and Mae Jirava.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Circles of Faith United Methodist Church in Waubun; there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Circles of Faith United Church of Christ in Waubun, with the Rev. Frank Rodgers and Rev. Del Stohs officiating. Burial wwill follow in the Ogema Cemetery.
