Townships will hold annual meetings March 10
A majority of townships in Hubbard and eastern Becker counties have decided their elections will coincide with the General Election in November, but 10 will have elections Tuesday, March 10.
Townships will still have their annual meetings March 10 when the town business is discussed and residents set the preliminary property tax levy.
Those with elections Tuesday are listed below. Terms are supervisor for three years; treasurer for two years, unless stated otherwise.
Residents will be electing one supervisor and a clerk. Incumbents John Naylor filed for supervisor and James Fox filed for treasurer. Polls will be open at the town hall from 4 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting at 8:15.
Ben Rucinski has filed for supervisor and Amy Mart has filed for treasurer.
Polls will be open at the town hall from 2 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
Jim Krieger filed for a three-year supervisor position and Tom Lindahl filed for a one-year supervisor position. And Nancy Buckentin filed for a two-year treasurer position.
Polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. at the town hall. The annual meeting will convene following the election at approximately 8:15 p.m.
Residents will be electing three supervisors and a treasurer. Silas Hooker and James Lyle have filed for one three-year term. Jerry Serbus filed for another three-year supervisor position. Michael Adkins and Shannon Skime have filed for a two-year supervisor position. Sharon Burglund filed for the two-year treasurer position.
The Planning & Zoning Board has three positions to fill. Dirk Fisher filed for a two-year position. No one filed for the other two-year term and no one filed either for a three-year term.
Polls will be open at the Nary Community Center from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
Incumbent Lester Edelman filed for supervisor and incumbent Ted Stillwell filed for treasurer.
Polls will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting following. Fire protection will be discussed at the meeting.
Residents will be electing a supervisor and clerk. Duane Becker has filed for a supervisor position and Janice Falk has filed for clerk.
Polls will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
Residents will elect a supervisor and a treasurer. Keith Mikus has filed for supervisor and Nancy Sumers has filed for treasurer.
Polls will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. in the basement of the courthouse in Park Rapids with the annual township meeting convening after the polls close.
Steve Pachel has filed for supervisor and Kathy Pachel has filed for treasurer.
Polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. at the town hall in Ponsford with the annual meeting convening at 8:15.
Arthur Yliniemi filed for a three-year term for supervisor and Anna Johnson filed for treasurer, a two-year term.
Polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Osage Community Center. The annual meeting will follow at 8:15.
Dennis Wright has filed for supervisor and Katie Kueber has filed for treasurer.
Polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting convening at 8:15.
Retz said at the annual meeting residents will vote on plans for a new community center and discuss plans for roadwork.
In case of inclement weather, most townships have given notice the election and annual meeting will be held Tuesday, March 17 at the same times and location.
