Robbie Hine scored four touchdowns as Nevis scored all its points in the first half in a 61-14 Great Northern Conference 9-man football rout of Northland Remer last Friday night at Nevis.


The Tigers built a 34-0 lead after the first quarter on a 15-yard TD run by Hine, a 45-yard pass from Collin Huckbody to Taylor Chase, a 28-yard TD run by Huckbody, a 13-yard pass from Huckbody to Hine, and a 4-yard TD run by Austin Becker.

Nevis scored four more times in the second quarter to carry a 61-0 lead into the half. Hine scored on a 14-yard run and returned an interception 95 yards for a score. Jordan Feder's 8-yard TD run and Hunter Darchuk's 1-yard TD run concluded the scoring for Nevis.

Remer, which fell to 0-5 on the season, scored on TD passes in the third and fourth quarters.

The Tigers compiled 450 yards in offense, including 291 yards rushing. Kiefer Miller rushed three times for 62 yards, Huckbody rushed six times for 57 yards, Feder gained 53 yards on seven carries and Darchuk rushed six times for 50 yards to lead a balanced rushing attack. Huckbody completed 6 of 9 passes for 159 yards with Chase making three receptions for 81 yards.

Defensively, the Tigers forced five turnovers with Chase and Gerald Beckerleg also intercepting passes and Victor Mastley and Michael Tranby recovering fumbles. Jake Keranen led the way with six solo tackles while Aaron Halik was in on five tackles and Michael Babler had a quarterback sack.

The win lifted Nevis to 5-0 on the season.
