Three seriously injured in crash, airlifted
Three people were airlifted out of the area Tuesday, after an apparent motor vehicle crash, according to a report from the Wadena County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded after the driver of a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville apparently "left the road and hit a driveway, causing the vehicle to vault through the air and crash" at around 6:30 a.m., the report said.
The three people in the vehicle were seriously injured, said Wadena County Sheriff Mike Carr. Names are not being released at this time, he added.
One person was airlifted from the scene, while the others were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids and later airlifted to other facilities.
The report also said Wadena County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Menahga Fire Department and First Responders, Tri-County Ambulance, North Memorial Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care, Menahga Police Department and K & K Towing.
The crash is still under investigation.
