Three hurt in head-on collision near Lake Park early Sunday morning
Three people were injured in a head-on collision early Sunday morning on Highway 10 west of Lake Park.
The crash occurred when a 2011 Kia Sorento turned west off County Road 1 into the eastbound lane of Highway 10.
It collided with a Ford Fusion that attempted to swerve into the median but was unable to avoid the collision.
The Ford ended up blocking the westbound lanes on Highway 10. The Kia ended up on its side in the median.
The driver of the Kia, Blossom H. Chwialkowski, 50, of Hawley suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The two occupants of the Ford Fusion suffered minor injuries. The driver was Adam G. Wilshire, 21, and the passenger was Ashley M. Elderfield, 24, both of England.
Assisting at the scene were EMS crews from Perham and Detroit Lakes, firefighters and police from Lake Park and Becker County deputies.
The accident was reported at 1:11 a.m. Sunday at Highway 10 and County Road 1, about a mile west of Lake Park.
