Three-car crash near Detroit Lakes sends three to hospital
A Detroit Lakes man and a White Earth baby were among those injured in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on Highway 59 South.
The accident occurred about 9 a.m. when a southbound 1994 Ford Escort stopped abruptly to make a left turn onto County Road 22, according to the State Patrol.
The car was rear-ended by a 1993 Buick Park Avenue, which was then struck from behind by a 1994 Chevy pickup truck and pushed into the first car.
Three people in the Park Avenue were transported by St. Mary's Ambulance to St. Mary's Essentia hospital in Detroit Lakes.
They are Lacey N. Littlewolf, 23, of White Earth, Peyton S. Person, 1, of White Earth and Philip E. Warren, 48, of Detroit Lakes. Their injuries were either not documented or listed as non life-threatening.
The driver of the first vehicle, Anthony R. Goulet, 35, of Detroit Lakes suffered no apparent injury.
The driver of the third vehicle was Christopher D. Wacker, 41, of Frazee. His injuries were not documented.
The crash occurred on dry two-lane blacktop. The Becker County Sheriff's Department assisted on the scene.
