The Dog Walk drew approximately 30 people and hounds who headed down the Heartland Saturday morning.

Pledge winners included 10-year-old Cody Smith of Park Rapids in the 12 and under age group ($285). Logan Aho, 17, of Wolf Lake was top dog in the 13- to 18-year- olds ($166) and Nakita Boyd claimed the adult title ($310).

Savanna Deitchler captured the coveted "Pet who looks most like its owner" title with her French poodle, Paris.

Both added a turquoise hue to their coiffures.

And Iten proved to be the Titan in the cutest dog contest. Judges were wowed by dog trainer Megan (Wagner) Martin's 12-week-old orphan pup, a "mix" that was bottle raised.

Twenty-nine proud owners entered their canines in the "cute" competition.

By day's end, 19 pets were in line to be micro-chipped; five with vouchers.

David Vik of Park Rapids claimed the grand prize, a one night's stay at Northern Lights Casino and Hotel in Walker.
