Suspected husband-and-wife shoplifters allegedly bit officer, tried to eat marijuana at Fargo grocery store
FARGO - Police arrested a husband and wife suspected of shoplifting a pregnancy test from Hornbacher's after she allegedly bit a loss prevention officer and he allegedly tried to eat marijuana.
Officers responded at 5:53 p.m. Monday to the Village West Hornbacher's at 4101 13th Ave. S. for a report of shoplifters who were fighting with store employees.
When officers arrived, the husband was trying to eat a "green leafy substance" and refused orders to spit it out, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
Officers tried to handcuff the man, but he allegedly resisted, Lykken said.
Christopher Timm, 23, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of ingesting a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and shoplifting.
His wife, Danielle Timm, 22, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault for allegedly biting the store's loss prevention officer, breaking the skin. The officer didn't require medical attention.
The store recovered the pregnancy test, Lykken said.
