Stony Creek Artists, all Park Rapids area residents, will display a variety of lush watercolors, oils and acrylic paintings, greeting cards, photographs and framed original art.

The show will begin Friday with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Artists will sell their works Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Artist Terri Young is well-known in the area for her watercolors and pastels that feature landscapes and florals. She will also have some of her photography for sale. She sells miniature replicas of her works on greeting cards and displays and sells her works at the Y Steak House, which she co-owns, and at her studio next door.

Bicky Bender was a seasonal resident for many years before permanently moving here from Fargo. She is also well known and is a member of White Birch Artists. Her art is more abstract. She works with handmade paper, which she features in precocious bird pictures. She also does architectural renderings of landmark buildings in the area. She, too, sells cards.

Janine Merrick was formerly a schoolteacher in Bloomington and Burnsville before relocating to the area. She keeps studios in both Park Rapids and Bloomington. Her works are mostly watercolors inspired by the scenery here and vistas encountered in her travels. She sells cards as well.

Ray Wattenhofer's paintings feature primarily oils on linen canvases. He paints landscapes, portraits and uniquely American lifestyle art. He also paints with acrylics and will sell smaller versions of his works in cards.

The four painters display their assortment of mixed media together as Stony Creek Artists only at this annual show.
