Stephen Jon Holt, 65, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic surrounded by his family.

Born to Marshall and Alice Holt of Des Moines, Iowa, May 13, 1948, he was the second of two sons. His older brother, Marshall Holt Jr. a fight pilot, was killed in Vietnam in 1966.

When Stephen was 19, he met and married his wife, Pam, who was 16; they developed a strong bond, and spent most of their time together, working, playing, and raising their family.

Stephen spent over 30 years in the Park Rapids area as an architect specializing in lake homes for retirees.

While in Park Rapids, he was a member of the Antique Tractor Club and the Osage Sportsman's Club. He loved photography, archery, shooting, painting, fishing, off-roading, boating, RVing and his wife.

Stephen was a deeply devoted Christian, who used his hobbies as an outreach, giving him the opportunity to love and guide many young men and women.

Stephen is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Pamela Holt; two children, Joseph (Sarah) Holt and Anne (Lynn) Field; four grandchildren, Catherine, Marshall, Christianna and Rebecca.

He will be deeply missed by his family and his community.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji.
