Standoff results in two arrests in Laporte Tuesday

Two people were taken into custody Tuesday night following a tense 90-minute armed standoff in Laporte.

The call came in just before 4 p.m. in a residential neighborhood a block away from Laporte Public School.

Numerous Hubbard County officers and State Patrol troopers kept their guns trained on a resi-dence while negotiating for the male suspect to come out.

A female suspect was escorted to a Patrol car around 5:15 p.m.
