A partial power loss occurred when one phase of the three phase feeder line came down, said Rick Schwartz, interim City of Wadena electric and water superintendant. City of Wadena workers had to shut down the entire feeder line in order to make repairs.

Schwartz expressed appreciation for people who reported the power loss and who witnessed the flash when the squirrels shorted the line, which helped workers locate the problem. The rain that afternoon may have also contributed to the shortage, Schwartz said.
