Snow chances remain throughout the week; amounts reduced
The Park Rapids area is still in for snow, but now that the National Weather Service knows where the March storm is going, residents can expect much less snow than earlier anticipated.
Here is what is now forecasted, although snow will fall throughout the week:
There is a 50 percent chance of snow today. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Northeast wind 10 to 13 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight, a 30 percent chance of snow before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind 11 to 13 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Wednesday will be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 11. West northwest wind 5 to 13 mph.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.
Thursday night will carry a 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
Friday there will be a 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.
