A second vehicle went into the ditch, but there were no injuries. Both accidents occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. in eastern Becker County. Emergency personnel from Becker and Hubbard counties and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash site. Three children were transported to an unknown hospital.

Travel was hazardous late Thursday in Hubbard County and the surrounding region.

The National Weather Service was advising no holiday travel.

"We may be in a lull right now but it's deceiving," said NWS meteorologist Nancy Godon.

"It's very important that people understand we're not done. We have a lot of wind to go and a lot of snow to go. We can probably start digging out on Sunday."

Hubbard County is in a winter storm warning until Saturday noon, but Godon said meteorologists would continue to evaluate the storm and extend warnings, or upgrade them as necessary.

By Thursday evening, the region had received an unofficial five inches of snow with more on the way.
