"We have no hard feelings against his family. We loved Eric. I don't want people to feel that we're bitter," said Rose Templin, the mother of Angela Templin, who was shot by Eric Steven Grewe on Friday. "I just don't understand it, what caused it."

Grewe, 39, used a shotgun to injure his significant other, 31-year-old Angela Rose Templin, in Bertha Friday, shortly before killing himself with the weapon, said Peter Mikkelson, Todd County sheriff.

Templin was transported by Bertha Ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena and later airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office.

Templin suffered serious injuries, said Christine Hill, media relations specialist for Hennepin County Medical Center. According to Templin's CaringBridge site, the gun, which was fired at point-blank range, left a large hole in here pelvic bone. There was also damage to her bladder that was repaired.

"She's just resting," Rose said, adding that Angela has been able to talk. "All she says is, 'Who does stuff like this?'"

Rose also said she feels Grewe's family is wondering why the shooting took place.

"They're hurting just as much as we are," Rose said.

Eagle Bend Police Department assisted in the incident, which is currently under investigation by the Todd County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
