Second-half defense keys Vikings' win over Panthers

Pelican Rapids broke open a close game with a 38-9 run in the second half to defeat the Park Rapids boys basketball team 91-48 Saturday night at Pelican Rapids.

Luke Halbakken led the Vikings with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Taylor Budke added 21 points as Pelican Rapids improved to 21-4 on the season with its 15th win in a row.

Christian's 22 points and seven rebounds led the Panthers, who fell to 1-21 on the season. Chris Goplerud added 12 points, six rebounds and three steals while Mason Long had 8 points and five assists and Kyle Goplerud grabbed six rebounds.
