Sandra "Sandy" Kay Traun

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Traun, 63, of Moorhead, formerly of Park Rapids, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Essentia Health Center in Fargo, N.D.

Sandra Kay Knobloch was born May 24, 1949 to John and Mabel (Fegre) Knobloch in Park Rapids. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1967.

She married Michael Francis Traun Sr. Dec. 24, 1968 in Maryville, Miss. She lived in Park Rapids for 35 plus years before moving to Big Fork, Lake Alice and West Fargo, N.D. before moving to Moorhead where she has resided since.

Sandy enjoyed reading, card playing, game playing, facebook, embroidery, playing with her grandchildren and was a wonderful homemaker.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and auntie. Sandy was kind and friendly with everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and very special great-niece and nephew-"Her Babies."

She will be remembered as Mom to all the extra kids she adopted as her own over the years. Over the years she was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and belonged to a Homemakers club.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Traun Sr. of Moorhead; son, Michael Traun Jr. of Dilworth; daughter, Regina (Scott) Muhm of Park Rapids; grandson, Christopher Fisher of Park Rapids; grandson, Jordan Fisher of West Fargo, N.D.; nephew, Scott (Joyce) Kappes of Moorhead; great-niece and nephew, Paige and Ethan Kappes of Moorhead; sister-in-law, Juliet Hansen of Brookings, Ore.; brother-in-law, Dan (Dail) Traun of Lake Itasca and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Knobloch; sister, Barb Kappes; and nephew, Paul Kappes.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids. Pastor Richard Jorgensen is will officiate. Recorded musical selections are "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Visitation: 10 a.m. Sat-urday.

Honorary urn bearers: grandsons Christopher and Jordan Fisher and great-niece and nephew Paige and Ethan Kappes.
