Romona Rose Bliss, 85, of rural Park Rapids, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her daughter's home in Milaca.

Romona Juanita Jehoich was born Sept. 7, 1928 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Francis E. and Frances E. (Thompson) Jehoich. She grew up and attended school mostly in Milaca and Foreston.

She was united in marriage to Edward R. Bliss March 10, 1947 in Princeton. She and Ed moved to a farm on the Hubbard Prairie where she has lived since. They raised their seven daughters there.

Romona loved to garden and can vegetables. She was well known for her accomplished cooking skills. She enjoyed raising chickens and doing crafting projects, especially pillow making. She liked playing cards, especially whist.

She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Akeley.

She is survived by her seven daughters, Carol (Sam) Kicker of Menahga, Shirley Dickhausen of Menahga, Connie Rogers of Menahga, Bonnie (Howard) Isaacson of Park Rapids, Marlys (Russell) Edwards of Shippensburg, Pa., Denise Bliss of St. Cloud, and Mary (Bryan) Currier of Milaca; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Mildred Angel of Big Lake, Arlene Stanley of Eden Valley, Beverly Loeffler of White Bear Lake; one brother, William (Myrt) Jehoich of Sartell; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son-in-law, Gary Rogers; grandson, Ronald Hamm; and many brothers and sisters.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Akeley. Pastor Harvey Kietzman will be the officiant.

Visitation: 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, evening, July 1, at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Nevis, also one hour prior to the service at the church today.

Interment: Lemon Cemetery at Badoura.
