The Minnesota State Patrol briefly shut down one of the major north-south arteries Monday morning after a two-vehicle rollover sent two men to the Park Rapids hospital.
The crash, around 7:15 a.m. on County Road 4 north of Park Rapids, slowed traffic and nearly caused other crashes on the slippery highway. The Patrol closed off the roadway about 7:45 a.m.
Two men, one believed to be in his 20s; the other in his 50s, were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Area Health Services.
The younger man is believed to have suffered a broken collarbone. The other man suffered cuts, bruises and scrapes.
Sanding crews were called to the scene on a state holiday. Numerous slippery spots were re-ported by motorists in the Park Rapids region as cold temperatures and a light dusting of snow fell on the region.
