Green Day is making good on an old promise and making up for past time with something bigger than before.

Nearly 11 years to the date after cancelling a July 3 concert at the Fargo Civic Center, the pop/punk group has finally rescheduled. The new date is set for July 10 at the much bigger Fargodome.

The show was listed on the facility's Web site Monday, but ticket information has not yet been released.

Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said the dome would probably be set up for 14,000 fans.

He said the group had been on the facility's "radar on and off for several years," but that timing of a local show hadn't worked out until now.

Still, he sounded surprised to learn that the show had been announced on the Fargodome site.

"Can you tell I've been in meetings all day?" he joked.

The California-based power trio hits the road July 3 in Seattle, promoting its new record, "21st Century Breakdown," which lands in stores May 15. The first single, "Know Your Enemy," is working into local radio stations' rotations.

"Breakdown" is the first disc since the group's 2004 smash hit, "American Idiot." That album earned the group Grammys for Best Rock Album and Record of the Year for the single "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

In the mid '90s the group landed hits with "Longview," "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around." The ballad "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" has been featured in a number of TV shows, including the final episode of "Seinfeld."

This will be the Fargodome's fifth major concert of the year, putting it on a good pace to reach the six to nine shows they budgeted for, Sobolik said.
