Robert "Bob" Eugene Jensen, 62, of Park Rapids, passed away after waging a hard fought battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at his home with his wife, Kari at his side.

Bob was born March 27, 1951 to Wilbur and Joyce (Sauter) Jensen. He was raised in Byron, where he attended public schools and graduated from the Byron High School with the Class of 1969.

In 1968, Bob was united in marriage to Margaret Conway (Schoeppner) they later divorced.

In 1972, Bob entered the United States Army where he served his country as a computer specialist.

In 1977, Bob was united in marriage to Kari Frutiger. He retired from the Army in 1992.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kari of Park Rapids; mother, Joyce Sauter; three children, Theresa (Jim) Josephson, Catherine (Mike) Schwartz and Robert (Shawn) Jensen; stepson, Robert (Stacey) Bartel; 16 beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Krystal, Katie, Karen, Alyssa, Dakota, Daiton, Amber, Kerstin, Kendall, Wyatt, William, Sydney, Zoey, Bailee, and Trinity; two stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlin; stepgreat-grandson, Treycen; two brothers, Ron (Cheryl) Jensen and Todd (Lynn) Cadwell; 13 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jason and Stephanie Palmer and Dick and Bonnie Moore.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, Robert Sauter and his grandparents.

Celebration of Bob's life: 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post in Park Rapids.
