Red Lake native subject of portrait display on the Dartmouth campus
HANOVER, N.H. - When Kayla Gebeck was a first year student here, she was photographed by artist Mateo Romero while dancing in Dartmouth College's 2009 Pow-Wow.
That enlarged photograph, which Romero painted over and transformed into one of his signature pieces, now hangs in the Hood Museum of Art on the Dartmouth campus. It was one of 10 large portraits in "Mateo Romero: The Dartmouth Pow-Wow Suite," on display through Sunday.
