Crosby-Ironton used runs of 9-2, 11-0 and 10-0 to build a 42-13 halftime lead en route to a 66-28 Mid-State Conference win over the Park Rapids girls basketball team Tuesday night at the Area High School gym.

Chelsey Bonsante opened the game by hitting a 3-pointer and Meredith Silgen scored twice inside as the Rangers jumped out to a 9-2 lead. Katie Klein hit a jumper for Park Rapids' lone basket.

After another jumper by Klein and a basket by Megan Grimes kept the Panthers with 15-6 at the 12:52 mark, C-I used two baskets by Bonsante and layups by Shannon Lundgren, Hallie Schmidt and Lauren Peterson to claim a 26-6 edge at the 9:20 mark.

Morgan Olson hit a 3-pointer to end that run and Grimes and Hope Johnson followed with jumpers as the Panthers trailed 32-13 with 5:21 to play in the first half.

C-I closed the half with a 10-0 run and opened the second half with a 16-2 run to claim a 58-15 advantage. Bonsante hit two 3-poiners and Schmidt hit a 3-pointer to open the second half. Bria Wolff's jumper was the Panthers' only points during that 12-minute stretch.

Jumpers by Charity Ridlon and Klein made it 60-20 with 9:06 to play before Morgan Olson concluded the scoring for the Panthers with a 3-pointer, a three-point play and two free throws.

Olson scored 11 points to lead the Panthers, who fell to 0-2 on the season.

Bonsante had 19 points and 10 assists, Silgen had 10 points and Shannon Lundgren grabbed 13 rebounds for the Rangers, who improved to 2-0 on the season.
