A three-goal first period led Detroit Lakes to a 4-2 Mid-State Conference win over the Park Rapids-Menahga-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team Tuesday night at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.

Nate Baker and Ryan Lindquist scored goals in a span of 1:04 midway through the first period to give the Lakers a 2-0 lead.

Sam Coborn and Levi Erickson set up a goal by Frank Moren at the 10:57 mark before Alex Mason gave Detroit Lakes a 3-1 lead. The Lakers held a 14-4 edge in shots in the opening period.

Andy Schupp's goal at the 5:41 mark concluded the scoring as the Lakers held a 14-6 edge in shots in the third period.
