Hubbard County is in line for some thundershower activity this morning, but meteorologists say the region will escape the punishing damage western North Dakota received last night.

"It hasn't really been as bad as we were expecting," said National Weather Service meteorologist Peter Rogers. "You may get a stray storm with some hail and high winds, but for the most part it's just a long band of showers and thunderstorms."

That line stretches from Baudette through Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls and is moving east, Rogers said,

"Once that moves through, the rest of the day should be pretty nice," he added.

Dickinson saw 70 mph winds and possible tornados Tuesday evening as the line of storms rumbled through western North Dakota, causing heavy property damage, uprooted trees and street flooding.
