Thief River Falls used a 7-0 quarterfinal win over Park Rapids Monday to capture its eighth consecutive Section 8A boys tennis title.

The Prowlers, who were ranked No. 5 in the latest state Class A poll, won all seven matches in straight sets. Alex Renner pushed Connor Hutton in a 7-5, 6-3 loss at No. 1 singles while Thief River Falls lost only two games in the other six matches.

On Tuesday at Park Rapids' Depot Courts, Thief River Falls defeated Detroit Lakes 6-1 in the semifinals and Staples-Motley 6-1 in the finals to return to state.

The Panthers end the season with a 2-13 record.

No. 3 doubles: Josh Koop/Jorde Hutton, TRF, over Iain Wallace/Jaden Olson 6-0, 6-0.
