PRAHS blood drive is a 'success'
Park Rapids Area High School has sponsored a successful blood drive.
According to Katie Bartelson, donor recruitment representative for United Blood Services, "Park Rapids Area High School had an outstanding turnout. Out of 65 people who volunteered to donate, 51were able to give. Thirteen people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 64 products were collected." Thirty-five donors gave for the first time.
Kerry Johnson coordinated the drive and the Student Council sponsored the event.
Donations will help meet the blood needs of many patients in 71 area hospitals served by United Blood Services.
Blood is for sharing; donors have truly given the "Gift of Life".
