Pound of pot seized at Warroad border crossing
A pound of marijuana was seized at the Warroad, Minn., port of entry late last month, officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said today.
The seizure occurred when a CBP officer searched a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by a 33-year-old Canadian citizen from Alberta on July 25. Officers found two, half-pound Ziploc bags and several smaller baggies filled with marijuana.
The driver was arrested and turned over to the Roseau County Sheriff's Office. No other details were released. One pound of marijuana has an estimated street value of $6,000.
