Ponsford man found guilty of 12th DWI
A Hubbard County District Court jury didn't deliberate long before finding a Ponsford man guilty of his 12th drunken driving offense Wednesday.
William Lawrence Butcher, 48, was found guilty of two counts of First Degree DWI and Driving After Cancellation Inimical to Public Safety.
Butcher was ordered to undergo a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing will be June 28.
Under state sentencing guidelines he faces 57-79 months behind bars. Hubbard County Attorney Don Dearstyne said he will request the top end of the sentence range because of Butcher's extensive record of drunken driving arrests.
Butcher was arrested on the outskirts of Park Rapids Dec. 31, 2009.
