CROOKSTON, Minn. - A fire at a rural Crookston shed that killed Bandit, a stud quarter horse, early Friday morning was caused by arson, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The state Fire Marshal Division came to that conclusion.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for the identity of the arsonist and those with information should call the arson hotline at (800) 723-2020, the sheriff's office said.

The Crookston Fire Department received the alert at 1:35 a.m. and arrived at 26471 U.S. Highway 2 to find a 40-foot-by-120-foot shed on fire.
