Pine River man gets 40 years in intentional murder case
Cass County Attorney Christopher Strandlie announces that Dane Joseph Riley, age 29, was sentenced, on February 13, to serve the statutory maximum of 40 years in prison. On December 13, 2012 a Cass County jury convicted Riley of the offenses of 2nd Degree Intentional Murder, Ineligible Person in Possession of a Firearm and Interference with a Dead Body. In a separate trial the jury also found that aggravating factors existed, which warranted an upward departure from the Minnesota Sentencing
