Pine River-Backus edges Braves in section playoff game

     Bailey Wynn’s 3-pointer with 17 seconds left broke a 33-33 tie and lifted Pine River-Backus to a 37-33 win over the Menahga girls basketball team in a Section 5A playoff game Thursday night at Pine River.

     Megan Felthous scored 18 points to lead the No. 3-seeded Tigers, who improved to 18-8 overall.

     Cierra Ahlf (9), Lakyn Anderson (7) and Jen Stifter (7) combined for 23 points for the No. 6-seeded Braves. Jenny Skoog pulled down 10 rebounds, Stifter had five assists and Alayna Lake had four steals as Menahga ended the season with a 9-16 record.
