Phyllis Ardell Thiede, 88, of Park Rapids, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Care-Age Country Home near Park Rapids.
Phyllis Ardell Thiede was born Feb. 12, 1926 at home on the family farm in Spruce Grove Township, Becker County, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Rader) Thiede. She grew up on the family farm and she attended the local district country school 52.
She moved to Minneapolis in 1952, where she was employed as a medical transcriptionist for 35 years at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She retired in 1987.
She enjoyed many summers at her cabin on Fifth Crow Wing Lake. In 2006, she moved into SummerField Place in Park Rapids. She has lived at Care-Age Country Home since 2008.
Phyllis enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and flower gardening. She was an active member of the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Marty (Carol) Thiede of Park Rapids; her sister, Lucille Oberley of New Prague; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillian Thiede; sister, Alice Polzin; and her brother in law, Gordon Oberley.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids. Pastor Chris Davis is the Officiate. Constance Shubert is the organist.
Interment: Spruce Grove/Union Cemetery near Wolf Lake.
