Pennsylvania woman dies in head-on south of Bemidji
The Minnesota State Highway Patrol reports that one person was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-car head-on collision south of Bemidji.
The accident occurred at 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Hubbard County Road 9, about six miles south of Bemidji.
According to the accident report, a southbound GMC Sierra driven by Steven Thompson, 63, of Bemidji, turned left in front of a Toyota driven by a Pennsylvania man, striking the front of the Toyota. Driver Walter Bruinsma, 75 of Springfield, Pa., received minor injures. Sheryl Bruinsma, 72 died as a result of her injuries. She was a passenger in the Toyota.
