Pearl B. Olson, 100, of Nevis, passed on to be with her Lord on Jaunary 5, 2013 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

Pearl was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on May 1, 1912 to Clyde and Julia Burfiend. She was raised in Robbinsdale, and graduated from North High School. She attended St. Cloud Teachers College, where she received her degree in education. Pearl moved to Nevis to begin her long career of teaching first grade.

Pearl met and married Olaf Olson. While Olaf was in World War II Pearl did her part for her country by becoming a "Rosie the Riveter".

She will be long remembered for her quick wit. She was a longtime member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis.

Pearl is survived by one son- Robert (Marvel) Olson of Lake Elmo, two grandsons, Brad Olson and Mike (Kia) Olson and one great grandson, Tristan Olson. two nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis. Visitation time to be held 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Darell Morton will be the officiant. Interment will be held in the spring at the Lakeview Cemetery in Nevis.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church.
