Peace Lutheran Church groundbreaking is Sunday
Members of Peace Lutheran Church, Nevis, announce plans for a groundbreaking ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 14 for their church building project.
The new facility will include a worship area, offices, meeting and Sunday School room, offices and restrooms, a fellowship area and kitchen. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in late April.
For many months, members of Peace have been planning and working diligently to reach this day.
In the fall of 2011, land was purchased and various designs and plans have been brought to the table for open discussion and suggestions. With the success of the building fund stewardship drive, “I’m All In,” spring 2013 has been designated as the season to move forward, continuing to build on the foundation of God’s Word.
The new 6,000-square-foot facility planned and designed by members of Peace will accommodate the needs of their growing faith community.
All ages will benefit from the new construction that will facilitate Sunday worship service, celebrations, meetings and learning opportunities.
Peace Lutheran is a Lutheran Congregation in Mission for Christ (LCMC), “Christian believers, rooted in God’s word, carrying out the great commission.”
Members of Peace are thankful to the
Nevis School, Nevis Church of Chris, and Nevis Senior Center for their willingness to share space during the past two years.
A warm welcome is extended to the community to attend this special event at the building site located two miles west of Nevis on Highway 34.
Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served.
