Paul Carlton Anderson, 46, of Irvine, Calif., son of Carlton and Anita Anderson of Park Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Paul was born April 3, 1968 in Park Rapids on his mother's birthday. As he grew, he excelled in the arts and in sports, eventually participating at the Minnesota State level in both cross country and baseball, and singing in All State choirs.

He attended Gustavus Adolphus College, keeping a family tradition. He played varsity baseball, toured internationally with Gustavus Choir and graduated in 1990 with honors and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Communications

Hired by Artsmarketing Services Inc., Paul moved to Toronto, Ontario Canada, spending the next seven years training over 75 of the company's managers with his energetic leadership. Upon relocating to California, he fell head-over-heels in love with Michelle Brubeck, married her in April 1996, and settled in Irvine.

Paul's high standards were undeniable. His commitment to God, family and friendship was foundational and easily visible through his words and actions. Whether conducting business, coaching children's sports, singing in church, or relaxing with family, he always invested himself in the lives of others.

Paul is survived by his wife, Michelle; three children, Amanda (13), Megan (10) and Joshua (6); his parents; sisters, Laura Long and Lynn (Craig) Tomlinson; nephew, Alek President; nieces, Leah President and Abigail Tomlinson.
