Pequot Lakes relied on full-court pressure and half-court traps the entire game to force 35 Park Rapids turnovers in a 94-28 Mid-State Conference girls basketball victory at the Area High School gym Tuesday night.

The full-court pressure resulted in eight consecutive layups, including five by Kylie Beltz, as the Patriots jumped out to a 19-0 lead with 13:22 to play in the first half.

A layup by Grace Bateman and a jumper by Lydia Lutz ended that run as the Panthers trailed 19-4 with 11:59 remaining in the first half.

Eight more layups followed as Pequot Lakes went on a 20-0 run to expand its lead to 39-4 with 7:38 to play.

Baskets by Carson Lee Christenson, Olivia Vaadeland and Ashley Domino kept the Panthers within 43-10 at the 6:05 mark before three more baskets by Beltz made it 53-11. Vaadeland scored off a rebound before the Patriots ended the half with a 15-1 run to claim a 68-14 lead at the break.
