Park Rapids, Nevis receive home matches

Park Rapids and Nevis will open the section volleyball tournament at home.

Park Rapids received the No. 3 seed in the north half of the Section 8AA tournament and will host No. 6 Warroad Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Area High School gym.

The north's other first-round matches Thursday night pit No. 1 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton against No. 8 Thief River Falls, No. 2 Roseau against No. 7 East Grand Forks, and No. 4 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley against No. 5 Crookston.

In the south half, Wadena-Deer Creek received the No. 1 seed and will host No. 8 Pequot Lakes. The other first-round matches in the south pit No. 2 Breckenridge against No. 7 Perham, No. 3 Detroit Lakes against No. 6 Hawley, and No. 4 Fergus Falls against No. 5 Pelican Rapids.

The high seeds will host the second round Friday night at 7 with the section semifinals being played Tuesday at sites to be determined.

In the Section 5A pairings, Nevis received the No. 1 seed in the northwest section and will receive a first-round bye Thursday. Nevis will open the tournament at the Tiger Arena Friday night at 7.

Menahga will open the Section 5A tournament at Browerville Thursday night at 7.
