Park Rapids man injured in crash
A Park Rapids man suffered minor injuries Sunday after his car was hit broadside by a car driven by a Detroit Lakes man.
David R. Town, 67, of Park Rapids was driving a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis westbound on Highway 34 about three miles west of Park Rapids.
He slowed down to turn left and another vehicle behind him also slowed, according to the State Patrol.
That's when a 1998 Dodge pickup truck (also westbound) driven by Jon V. Johnson, 40, of Detroit Lakes pulled out to pass the slowing vehicles and hit the Grand Marquis as it was turning. Johnson was not injured in the accident, according to the State Patrol.
The crash was reported at10:24 a.m. on dry pavement. The Hubbard County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
