Park Rapids Lets Go Fishing group takes maiden voyage Wednesday
The Park Rapids Chapter of Let's Go Fishing is excited to announce the launch of its first excursion on Wednesday, June 15, from Fish Hook Lake.
Let's Go Fishing is a statewide program that enriches the lives of people age 55 and older through free fishing and boating excursions that strengthen communities, build relationships and create memories. The organization has chapters throughout Minnesota.
Diane George, Park Rapids LGF Chapter President said, "We are pleased to bring this outstanding program to our community. We could not have done it without the dedication and commitment of our caring volunteers and many generous supporters. I can't wait to get our first group of seniors out on the water."
Let's Go Fishing will host free fishing and boating excursions for people 55 and older on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the summer.
The excursions are led by trained volunteers and all of the equipment is provided. To schedule an excursion you can call the Community Education Office at 218-237-6600. If you are interested in becoming a LGF volunteer, please contact Diane George at 218-237-8315.
