Saturday was a perfect day for the Park Rapids Fire Department to shine up the trucks, pull them out of the garage, and invite the neighborhood in for hot dogs and brats. Firefighters demonstrated public safety measures, blew up air bags to show what happens during a car accident, and passed out freebies and frisbees. North Memorial Ambulance sent a helicopter. Kids toured the trucks, rescue vehicles and got to meet Smokey Bear.
