Park Rapids Boy Scouts attend camp near Ponsford

Park Rapids Troop 58 spent this week at Many Point Scout Camp near Ponsford. The Scouts left Sunday, Aug. 14 and were scheduled to return today (Saturday), Aug. 20.

At camp the boys participate in a variety if activities from water sports such as swimming, canoeing and sailing, to shooting sports such as working with a .22 rifle, shotgun or archery as well as woodcarving and basket making. This year's camp ends with a rendezvous.

There are three sub-camps at Many Point and on Friday about 300 Scouts got together for a competition to see which camp could score the most points. Some of the competitions were log rolling, climbing, frog leg eating and tea making. Last year Park Rapids' Camp Ten Chiefs was the champ.
