Park Rapids board bids farewell to longtime principal Gravalin
Century School principal Bruce Gravalin bid farewell this week at his "last official school board meeting," closing a 37-year career in education.
"I've enjoyed the last three years as much as any, despite the added workload," he said of assuming the leadership role for both the elementary and middle schools. "It's a credit to the staff.
"I always enjoyed coming to work," he said, noting daily incidents always prompted chuckles. "It's been an honor and a pleasure."
In other action, the board:
n Approved a bid of $46,000 for the student-built house that will be moved to Twin Valley in July.
n Approved reinstatement of the yearbook advisor position, which was cut as a cost-saving measure. Josten has agreed to cover the cost, superintendent Glenn Chiodo said.
n Approved the first and second reading of the Century middle and elementary schools handbooks, both with minor changes.
