Park Rapids and Nevis will host first-round football playoff games while United North Central will hit the road Tuesday night.

Despite a 16-6 loss to Roseau in the regular-season finale Wednesday night, the Panthers (3-5) maintained the No. 2 seed in Section 8AAA and will host No. 7 Staples-Motley (0-8) Tuesday night at 7 at Vern Weekley Field.

The other quarterfinals games in Section 8AAA feature No. 3 Roseau (4-4) hosting No. 6 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (2-6) and No. 4 Crookston (3-5) hosting No. 5 Pequot Lakes (2-6). No. 1 Perham (7-1) receives a first-round bye.

A win over Staples-Motley would give the Panthers another home playoff game since the section semifinals will be held Saturday night at 7 at the high seeds.

Nevis (8-0) earned the No. 1 seed in the Section 6 9-man playoffs and will host No. 8 Rothsay (1-7) Tuesday night at 7. The other quarterfinal games find No. 2 Ada-Borup (7-1) hosting No. 7 Ulen-HItterdal (2-6), No. 3 Waubun (6-2) hosting No. 6 Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (3-5), and No. 4 Park Christian (5-3) hosting No. 5 Norman County East (4-4).

With a win, Nevis will host a semifinal game Saturday.

In the Section 8AA playoffs, United North Central (1-7) received the No. 8 seed and will travel to No. 1 Hawley (8-0) Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The other Section 8AA quarterfinal games Tuesday night find No. 2 Barnesville (8-0) hosting No. 7 Bagley (5-3), No. 3 Pelican Rapids (6-2) hosting No. 6 Prairie Valley (5-2), and No. 4 Frazee (7-1) hosting No. 5 Warroad (4-4).

The Section 8AA semifinals will be held Saturday afternoon at the high seeds.
